As of July 1, the New York State Health Department has increased the number of immunizations children need before entering school.
HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP — It’s been a year since Luis Rodriguez’s first surgery on a brain tumor that was affecting his vision, speech and strength. But the 41-year-old father of six now feels better than ever, he said today.
Rodriguez, of Vineland, is the first patient in a clinical trial at Capital Health Medical Center — Hopewell that targets the malignant cells directly.
Using a hair-like catheter that’s threaded through the femoral artery from his leg up through his body into the neck and brain, doctors at Capital Health — Hopewell douse the tumor with chemotherapy that’s carried to the area by Rodriguez’s natural blood flow.
