KUALA LUMPUR: The BioMalaysia and Bioeconomic Asia Pacific 2013 Conference and Exhibition ended yesterday, drawing more than 5,000 visitors, with more than 250 business-matching exercises concluded.
“We have managed to draw more than 5,000 visitors to the events and all the conference sessions were full house,” said Malaysian Biotech Corp Sdn Bhd (Biotech Corp) CEO Dr Mohd Nazlee Kamal in Johor Baru yesterday.
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 (Bernama) — Australian scientist Professor Alan Cowman has been awarded the 2013 Mahathir Science Award for his groundbreaking research on malaria.
The announcement was made by Mahathir Science Award Foundation (MSAF) chairman Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid Thursday.
Ahmad Sarji said the research done by Cowman had led to effective understanding of the pathogenesis of the infection and innovative technologies development of reverse genetics of Plasmodium Falciparum, as well as described the first gene knock-out for this organism.
